We need shower faucets for daily bathing. If we don't choose the right shower faucet, there may be various problems or troubles in daily bathing. Therefore, we need to pay extra attention when choosing. So, what should we pay attention to when choosing a shower faucet?
1、 It is not recommended to use a bathtub faucet instead of a shower faucet
There are many similarities between shower faucets and bathtub faucets, such as functionality, usage environment, etc., and there are also many commonalities in product selection. The biggest difference between them is that bathtub faucets all have a lower water outlet, while shower faucets generally do not. Some shower faucets now come with a drain for easy washing of towels, face washing, etc. However, even so, it is not recommended to use a bathtub faucet instead of a shower faucet. Because the handle of the bathtub faucet is usually horizontal, during the shower, it is very likely to accidentally touch the horizontal faucet, causing the water temperature to rise or fall sharply. The handle of the shower faucet is generally vertical, making it less prone to accidental operation. But even vertical faucets can be lifted during use, and there is still a possibility of misoperation in narrow shower rooms.
2、 It is recommended to use shower faucets made entirely of copper material as much as possible
Nowadays, the technology of all copper faucets has become very mature and occupies the majority of the market share. The real all copper faucet handle, conversion valve, decorative nut, wall cover, connecting nut and eccentric joint, water outlet shell and other components are all made of brass. After electroplating, they are not only beautiful and thick, but also durable. When purchasing, be sure to ask in detail whether it is a real all copper faucet or just the main body is made of all copper. In most cases, whether it is a full copper faucet can be distinguished by weight and sound. Copper faucets are generally heavy and have a dull and low sound when struck.
3、 Avoid heat-resistant products such as plastic in the valve core of the thermostatic faucet
If you are using a thermostatic faucet, the quality of the valve core is extremely important. Using inferior materials and making rough thermostatic valve cores may cause unstable water temperature during use, and even more dangerous is damage, leading to burns. The valve cores of thermostatic faucets on the market are mostly made of pure copper or ceramics, and the core part uses shape memory alloy springs. With excellent craftsmanship, this type of faucet has fast response speed, stable temperature, and safe use. Be careful to avoid using heat-resistant products such as plastic in the valve core of the thermostatic faucet, or using paraffin thermostatic elements in the core part. Paraffin constant temperature element is the first generation constant temperature valve core. Its reaction speed is slow, and the temperature instantly exceeds the value too much. It cannot be compared with shape memory alloy springs in terms of safety and comfort.
4、 The selection of thermostatic faucets must be more scarce than excessive
There are mainly three types: single handle dual control, dual handle dual control, and thermostatic faucet. The most commonly used one is the single handle dual control faucet, which is convenient to use, has a simple structure, and may require adjusting the water switch with eyes closed during bathing, making it one of the best choices for bathtub faucets. Double handle faucets can be applied to more occasions, such as massage bathtubs. Thermostatic faucets are relatively new and technologically advanced faucets. Their feature is that they can automatically control the water temperature at a relatively constant value, and the temperature can be adjusted more accurately by themselves. When choosing a thermostatic faucet, one must adhere to the principle of preferring scarcity over excess. Poor quality thermostatic faucets may malfunction during use, causing a sudden and significant increase or decrease in water temperature, which can have serious consequences.
5、 Do not place too much emphasis on appearance and avoid using pointed faucets
When using faucets for showers or bathtubs, try to avoid using square or pointed faucets. Such faucets may have a good appearance, but they have significant safety hazards. Because in case of slipping, the risk of injury is relatively high if the body touches such a pointed faucet.
